Our Fleet

The Passaic Fire Department is staffed by 108 personnel, operating out of 2 fire stations. Each station maintains and operates 2 engine companies and 1 Ladder Company. Each of the 6 companies is assigned an officer and 3 firefighters. In each station, on every shift, there are 2 Lieutenants, 1 Captain and, 9 Firefighters. In addition, each of the 4 shifts has 1 Deputy Chief who serves as the "Shift Commander". The Deputy Chief for the shift maintains his own response vehicle and responds from the Westside fire station. This Division is the most visible in the department, responding to over 3,500 emergencies a year. The personnel in this Division are highly trained in firefighting and in various emergency situations

The Passaic Fire Department protects a population of 80,000 people in 3.2 square miles. Our response capabilities include fire suppression, vehicle extrication, structural extrication, hazardous materials, and emergency medical assistance.
